Seeing More Than One Practitioner

One of your main core values at Peak is to create ease. This comes from many different places and doesn’t solely apply to us, it also applies to you too. We try making your visit(s) as straightforward and convenient as we can each and every time. A big part of this is making sure you get the appointment times you want and on the days you want. Because of this, sometimes you end up seeing more than one practitioner.

Now this isn't an issue at all, and most people are absolutely fine with it. I do however hear a few questions in the clinic surrounding this topic so I thought I’d go ahead and answer the two main ones here.

  1. ‘Why does it feel different when you’re treating me vs when [insert other practitioner] is treating me?’

It’s a good question, and no doubt a correct statement in that it will feel different. Some of us have different ways of handling your body than others. Some of us do things in one order and the others, another. Some of us may have a firmer contact and some of us prefer a gentile adjustment where others like a stronger one. The only thing you need to know is that we are all doing the same tests, looking at the same markers and adjusting towards the same goal. We’re all trained the same way and other than comfort/personal preference, we’re all doing the same thing.

  1. ‘Why did [Practitioner 1] do this to me last week, and now you’re doing something completely different to me this week?’

Again, the question completely makes sense from your end, and the answer is nice and simple.

As we’re adjusting you, especially in our first chapter of care, we are changing LOTS of things. One of the main positives about how we work is that we don’t just do generic plans where we treat the same area 24 times then see how it’s improved, but instead we test and retest EVERY. SINGLE. SESSION. This means we know what the body needs right that minute, right as you’re sitting there. This can mean one session a knee is adjusted, the next session it’s a foot and a rib. We could then need to do an elbow 5 times in a rod, we don’t know until we get hands on. All  we do know is as we start to peel back layers the body will change and we will start seeing things be stressed differently.
