Why Do In 30 What You Can Do In 10?

We cover this with pretty much every client that walks through the door to see us and it is one of the more common topics mentioned in any feedback we ask for. It is also one of the biggest changes I had to overcome when changing from my previous role as an Osteopathic clinician.

So what am I referring to when I say ‘Why do in 30 what you can do in 10?’

Session length.

Each ‘regular’ visit with us is scheduled as a 10 minute slot. When I tell most people who have never been to a chiropractic clinic this they almost gasp in shock

‘10 minutes, that’s not a lot! How do you get anything done?!’

In reality you can get quite a lot done in that time. We still make sure every client is assessed, adjusted as many times as necessary, spends time on pelvic blocks and receives cranio-sacral therapy all while encouraged to discuss any queries/concerns/updates they have.

If we can do all that in 10 minutes then the real mindset should be ‘Why would you want to take any longer’?

Sure, we could make sessions 15 or 20 minutes long instead. We would still get the same amount done but we would just take longer to do it and maybe we could put the world to rights while doing so, but it’s unlikely any of it will help you along your health journey.

The thing is, we’d also have to take that extra 5/10 mins off of someone else, unless you want your clinician working 16 hour days. How’s that fair to anybody?

The more efficient we can be, the quicker we can make an impact.

The quicker we make an impact, the more times we can make said impact in a given day.

The more impact we make, the better our society's health is. And that should be the goal of every person working in the healthcare field.
