Well done, Alan, on achieving such a significant milestone.

Alan came in for a free shoulder health check, having had a few mountain biking falls that left his right shoulder bothering him, and after a brief chat and a few tests, we agreed a full consultation would help us understand what treatment would work best. Alan was also going through the NHS pathway and had been told he had an almost full-width and thickness supraspinatus tear, part of the rotator cuff, that could only be resolved through surgery, and understandably, he was hesitant to go down that route if there was any alternative.
After working with Alan for a few months, we got him to the point where he could lift his arm above his head again and felt comfortable enough to go back to work. The clinician wrote a letter to his surgeon outlining all of Alan's functional testing, and asked for further imaging to determine whether surgery was still necessary.
All the hard work paid off, and Alan was discharged from the NHS without needing surgery. He's since come back in for a review, and still has almost full use of his arm, remaining very grateful to the clinician for helping solve his issue without surgical intervention.

Adjustments and myofascial work aren't just for adults or for people already in pain, they help make sure your body and nervous system are working at their best.
When the nervous system works well, it helps coordinate and regulate every system in the body. This supports resilience, balance, mobility, recovery, and overall performance, both before problems start and to keep you strong long term.
This is why I recommend the same care to my clients as I do to my own family, including my children. Two of my sons are teenagers, one an elite trampolinist, and the other a keen footballer and golfer. I adjust them weekly, and they also come in for myofascial work. This combination supports their athletic development by improving muscle coordination, flexibility, balance, joint stability, and weight distribution, all essential for performance and injury prevention.
Starting care at a young age supports healthy development and can reduce the chance of problems appearing early, while starting later in life is just as valuable, helping address existing concerns while slowing further issues.
Everyone who walks through our doors gets the same standard of care I would choose for my own family. Proactive, consistent care isn't just about feeling better now, it's about building a stronger, more resilient body for years to come.

In doing so, she's raised over £1,200 combined for prostate cancer research and MacMillan Cancer Support. Well done, Tracie!

Tonia came in really struggling with everyday activities, dealing with her lower back and some swelling of the elbow. Since joining Peak, she's had her first swimming lessons and feels considerably more confident as a swimmer, able to do anything she wants without the fear of pain, which has allowed her to do more with her family.
For the first time she can remember, she's also joined a gym, working toward her next goal of building a stronger upper body.

This is Sue after only a handful of visits with myself and the team, and she has seen massive improvements lower-back wise since she first came in, having previously relied on painkillers for the pain, which she no longer needs.
Functionally, she's doing considerably more around the house, including walking better without crutches and managing the stairs without crawling up them. Thank you, Sue.

Samantha first came to Peak after years of frustration with her health, having initially been misdiagnosed by the NHS with long Covid before later discovering she had adult-onset asthma. For years she struggled with headaches and dizziness that left her drained and unable to stay active, and desperate for answers, we were her last point of call.
Since starting care, Samantha is now pain-free, back at the gym, lifting weights, and enjoying the treadmill again, and she says it feels like she's finally got her life back.

This is Salote, and she's been coming to us since giving birth, when she started suffering with back and shoulder pain and stiffness that was affecting life at home, making it harder to be as active with family activities.
Before long, she was no longer experiencing lower back pain, which she was thrilled with and which had a positive impact at home. She then started the second phase of her plan with the myofascial team, who discovered she was also limited in movement through her shoulder and neck. After multiple sessions with that team, she's seen real improvement, feeling overall happier, with her family noticing a change in her too. Salote continues her treatment to further benefit her health.

We wanted to celebrate Rosie for being a member at Peak for many years now. She'd found it difficult to walk for 5-10 minutes every other day without pain, alongside other symptoms in her hip and issues running down her arm into her thumb.
Now she's walking very regularly and exercising more without even thinking about it or worrying, with no issues in her arm to note. The added bonus of sleeping better, feeling more confident, and having an overall better quality of life makes it all the more worthwhile.

It's a great reminder that taking proper care of your spine ultimately means taking care of your life.

With a demanding job that takes him across the UK, Rob spent years dealing with back pain that made long hours of driving uncomfortable and exhausting, and it began affecting not just his work, but also his time with family and his ability to stay active. He started care at Peak, hoping to find lasting relief, and soon noticed a major improvement. Over time, his back issues eased off significantly, giving him more freedom and comfort in his daily life.
Now, Rob's focus has shifted to improving a frozen shoulder, something he's managing with the same commitment to his care. An avid golfer and devoted dad, he's grateful that regular sessions allow him to stay active, spend quality time with his young daughter, and enjoy his hobbies without pain holding him back.

Richard is an incredibly active man in his early seventies who spends most days playing racquet sports, primarily pickleball and padel. With decades of golf, regular walking, and an energetic role as a grandad, he leads a life full of movement. He's dealt with knee pain for some time now, more so on the left due to degenerative changes, but remains committed to keeping surgery as a last resort.
Well into his care plan, and thanks to his excellent response, he moved on to working with our myofascial team early. The muscles in his lower body, especially those stabilising his left knee, are now functioning much closer to those on the right, helping the joint load more evenly and easing the strain that was accelerating his degeneration. His weight distribution has improved significantly, along with steady gains in his balance.
Richard's commitment to staying active has played a major role in his progress, keeping his body responsive and adaptable. As we continue working with him, our focus is on optimising the overall function of his nervous system so his whole body can keep performing at its best.
